How to use this record:
This is BACKGROUND MUSIC. DO NOT TRY TO “LISTEN” TO IT.
All loops were improvised in real time (often during parties), to support people having conversations. Loops that demanded too much attention went to the garbage. Loops that could not repeat over and over without becoming annoying, also garbage. NOTE: There is no pressure or expectation for these loops to be actively listened to; so, try them out when you're focused on something else.
Ways I enjoy non-listening:
Research, writing, talking to friends, stretching, scrolling, listening to other music, breaking a fever, making art, uploading spreadsheets, sleeping.
Special Thanks to:
Bear, for gifting me my first loop pedal
Mandylan Blythe, for letting me borrow instruments
Michael Mowgli for gifting me a well-blessed microphone
Chris Whiting, for inspiring Loop #1 “Mister Mary Jane”
Dave DiAntonio, for inspiring Loop #4 “Dave”
Emilie Juliette Inman, for inspiring me always
